Replacing Your LED Flashers


When a truck is converted to all LED lights, you may encounter problems with your turn signals. If your turn signals malfunction or fail after installing all LEDs on your truck, you will most likely need to convert your existing internal flasher to one that is made for LEDs.

Incandescent lights use much more power than LEDs. The standard flasher that comes with a truck is usually engineered to trigger the turn signal function of a light as a certain amount of power runs through it. Since the LED lights do not use as much power, they will not trigger the flasher and the lights will not flash properly. An LED flasher is more sensitive and will be triggered by less power.



NOTE: These products generally will not work on Freightliner trucks. An alternative to a replacement flasher relay is the LED turn signal flasher conversion harness w/resistor.
